Aaaah...well, you know when I said that some Pasteis de Belem sounded good (for you to bring home for me) - a canoli from Italy sounds fine, too! :) Either one....I'm not picky!

There is nothing wrong with Canoli's for breakfast. Anything goes when you are in Europe. As Bill Cosby once said, there's eggs, flour, milk in it, doesn't that classify as breakfast.
It all sounds wonderful, the sights the food. Keep enjoying, this will be memories for a lifetime.
